Cara Mae Wooledge

Communications Manager

Cara Mae Wooledge, MPH is a public health professional dedicated to improving community health. Her true passion shines when she engages with communities to take action to protect and improve their health. Ms. Wooledge brings with her deep connections in the Napa community with the goal of elevating the Napa Medical Research Foundation through clear and impactful communications.

Ms. Wooledge received her BA in Political Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Sciences from UCLA. After graduating from UCLA, in 2007 she accepted a position with the Napa County Health and Human Services Agency Public Health Division. In her role as a Health Education Specialist, Ms. Wooledge acted as a public health and medical information specialist for health promotion and crisis emergency risk communication. She has managed diverse communications projects including Live Healthy Napa County and Housing is Healthcare.

After 11 years at Napa County Public Health, in 2018 Ms. Wooledge decided pursue projects that would allow her to connect with the community in a more direct way. As the Communications Manager, her goal is to establish and execute a strategic marketing and communications plan to support the advancement of the Foundation as a leading center for regenerative orthopedic medicine. Ms. Wooledge will also develop and implement local outreach and engagement activities to increase awareness of and support for the Foundation within the Napa community.

In her free time, Ms. Wooledge has fun while staying active by stand up paddling with her partner, Bailie, on the Napa River and performing with her friends as World Beat Dance Collective. You can find her on Saturdays year-round at the Napa Farmers Market.

All the research conducted through the Napa Medical Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is fully funded through generous donations received from individuals and family foundations.
